68. Do Something
The Best Thing You Can Think Of

Let me start you off with a quote that encompasses what I want you to think about today.
Do something. Do the best thing you can think of. Put the best plan you have into practice. It’s not gonna be perfect and it will change along the way. But it will change partly because you become disciplined pursuing the path, and as you become disciplined you become wiser. And as you become wiser you become able to formulate better and better plans.
Stop scrolling Instagram. Go do something.
Stop binging Netflix. Go do something.
Stop sleeping in. Go do something.
It doesn’t matter what it is, you just have to do it.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
We don’t need to do less and take more breaks.
We need to do more.
Burnout runs rampant because we don’t do anything, not because we do too much.
It’s not the busy mom with 4 kids who all play sports that’s suffering from burnout or the CEO of a 9 figure company that feels tired all the time.
They’re too active to be tired.
There’s too much to do, and they don’t know it any other way.
The old adage says that if you want something done, task it to the busiest person you know because you know they’ll get it done.
Give the same task to someone who’s tired all the time, only talks about what they watch on TV and is not responsible for anyone or anything but themselves and at best, the task will take 3 times longer. More likely, it will be forgotten.
Giving a tired person nothing to do is a sure fire way to ensure they won’t find more energy.
I bet you’re thinking about the lovely weekends or evenings when you can do nothing that you’ve come to love so much.
Maybe you’re thinking that I’m off my rocker.
If so, let me know, but you’d have to intentionally do something to do that.
If that’s the best thing you can think of doing, I’m all ears.
