52. Making Everyday Your Heyday
The Time Is Now

This being the 52nd issue of Coffee With Cody means I’ve now been at this for a year. Thinking back to a year ago, I recall starting this blog because it was something I planned on doing once I reached a certain level of undefined success. I realized that firstly, I can’t reach something if it’s not defined, and secondly, how would I get there, wherever there is, if I continue to put things off? It became clear that there was no reason to delay something I knew I wanted to do. As a result, I sent the first edition of Coffee With Cody 52 weeks ago and decided to make it a habit.
Now here we are, and I still have not reached that point of undefined success, again, wherever that point is, but I have gotten better at doing things before it’s necessarily the “right” time. Whether you’re ready or not, days pass by, so attempting to live in the past or waiting for the future to come is simply an ineffective way to live up to your potential.
Make today great, because who knows what’s to come. If yesterday was great, remember fondly and then proceed to do it again.
The time to be great is now. If you don’t feel ready, like Jen Gotlieb says, do it anyway. Don’t plan on having a great life, just have a great life. There may be some good times in your rear view mirror, but if all you do is look backwards then you’ll be blinded against what may be here right now.
