Do the Best, Be the Best, Have the Best

I could probably summarize today’s topic in a single Threads post, and if I did, it would read something like this:
Don’t charge your customers differently based on their method of payment
To follow that up, I might add to that Thread by saying this:
Set your prices right the first time
I’ve always thought it was kind of bush-league to charge customers more or less whether they pay with cash or credit or cheque or whatever. The reason is because as the person on the receiving end of a transaction, your goal should be to make it as easy as possible for the giver to give you their money. I’ve also found that the fewer decisions your customer has to make, the more likely they are to decide to give you money. Making them weigh the pros and cons of payment methods is another reason to delay payment.
Before you leave, I know you’re not all business owners, but we are all sales people. We transact every day with each other, and there’s a rampant bad habit of putting terms and conditions on our transactions. We’re meant to be social creatures, and it’s expected that there’s going to be give and take in every relationship, but the fine print we’ve all started to use is getting out of hand.
