39. Keep Your Car & Your Stainless Steel Appliances Clean

You know who really likes a clean car? The people with the most expensive cars. How many filthy Ferrari’s have you ever seen? Compare that number with how many filthy Mazda 3s you’ve seen. It’s no bash against the Mazda, it just illustrates the variance in habits between 2 different kinds of people.

If I had a Ferrari, I’d make sure that thing is in pristine condition every time I drive it, which is why I try to do the same with the Mazda 3. As far as I can tell, first comes the habit, then comes the results. The habit of keeping a clean car helps me keep up with the habits of my desired future self. If you think you’d like to have nice things, then prove that you can nicely take care of your stuff.
