I recently had a conversation about Angela Duckworth’s revered book called “Grit”. Someone mentioned they were reading it and quite enjoyed the concept that there’s a lot more to success than talent alone. As you might guess, it takes grit too. This person then mentioned that they figured they didn’t need to read the rest of the book because why do you need 200 pages to explain that grit is important?

I said I agree. Don’t bother with the rest.

I’ve read the book, and can summarize it to you by saying that grit is important and there are loads of studies that prove it. I don’t quite understand what made that book such a hit.

I see it as a simple topic made out to be complicated. Yes, it’s important, but the first 19% of the book will teach you all you need to know.

I got this text after I said “I bet you won’t finish it”.

Not everything needs an explanation, so let me keep this brief.

Say less.

I’ve found this to be useful.

See you next Thursday.
