114. A New Year’s Toast
For Auld Lang Syne

If I may, I’d like to make a toast.
2025. It’s been fun.
The highs, the lows and everything in between.
It’s been the perfect foundation for 2026.
Why? Because it’s the only one we’ve got.
I’m thankful for the events of the year, and I look forward to what’s next.
2026. Let’s go.
May there be more highs and fewer lows.
Go ahead and get specific if you want. Set goals if it suits you. Break down the past year and masterfully construct the next if you’re drawn to.
But no pressure.
It’s only January 1st. Otherwise known this year as Thursday.
Let’s keep it rolling. Don’t worry about what might not have happened last year. We’re still going. There’s still time.
Give yourself the gift of grace and let go of anything you might feel you fell short on last year. Take it easy on yourself and take care of business today before you start worrying about tomorrow.
A young Kris Kringle had to put one foot in front of the other before he delivered toys to the children of the world.
Therefore, today, I’m doing Thursday.
I’ve got goals, but not because it’s January 1st. We might talk about them another time.
For now, cheers to Thursday.
Cheers to you and the efforts you make day in and day out. I know you’re going to keep it rolling.
The good you’re doing is compounding into something great. If you didn’t see it last year it’s okay. If you don’t see it yet it’s okay.
Let’s keep this rolling.
The highs, the lows and everything in between.
That’s the life experience, and what a treat it is.
I’ll drink to that, and I’ll see you next Thursday.

PS: If you’re looking for a good read to start the year, try “The Infinite Game” by Simon Sinek. Great book to teach you how to remove yourself from the calendar and live with indefinite purpose.
